Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back to a wonderful new year! I want you to know your children were very kind and helpful in transitioning back into the school year. I just wanted to give you a few updates on what we will be starting in each of the subjects.
Reading: Making Inferences-this is what good readers do when they take something they know about a topic and apply it to what they read. For this unit, we will be reading in book clubs based on a mystery unit.
Mathematics: Geometry-we will be starting this unit with a study of lines, angles, and rays in Chapter 17. We will be also working on long division in addition to geometry.
Science: Students will be studying Electricity in Unit F, Chapter 14.
Writing: We are starting our study of expository writing. Students will be choosing a topic, researching, notetaking, and creating a finished piece.
We will have a very busy 3rd quarter! Welcome back~
