Time for Kids-Reading Activity

If you would like to see the issue we read today, head to this website.

We also used Google Earth to see where earthquakes have happened in the world in the past hour, day, or week. First, download google earth to your computer and then open a "kmz" file to have fun with Google Earth.

Math Test Tomorrow

For our Chapter 25 Math test, students will need to be able to produce this chart (which was also sent home today as a study guide).

Kilo Hecto- Deca- Base Deci- Centi- Milli-

Also, here are some websites to use for extra practice. If you find any others, copy them as a comment and I will add them to our list. Good luck reviewing!

Testing

Dear Parents,

March 30th begins our state MAP testing in the area of Communication Arts and Mathematics. We are testing the mornings of March 30, 31, and April 1 for Communication Arts. Math will be tested April 13, 14, and 15. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time. If possible, please do not schedule any doctor’s appointments during these six testing days.

It would be very beneficial if the students get to bed early and eat a well balanced breakfast in the morning. I encourage each child to bring in a water bottle during the days of testing.

We will take a break each day of testing to stretch and enjoy a snack. To ensure that each child will have a snack, we will make a trail mix. If it is possible, could you please send a food item to school by March 29 that we could use to add to our trail mix? Any snack item works well (cereal, M&M’s, raisins, chips, cookies, Swedish Fish, etc.). I would like to thank you in advance for providing a snack. Since we have a nut allergy, please avoid peanut items.

Thank you for everything you have done to help your child this year. They have all worked very hard and are well prepared to do their best!

Spring Break Fun!

Over the next week, please make one post updating your classmates on what you are doing over spring break. Any fun trips planned? Books you are reading? Let us know!

Our Blog

Parents and Students,
You might have thought I forgot about our blog. Actually, I was working on getting some technical difficulties sorted out. I worked for several hours trying to get video uploaded. I finally figured out a solution to our problem, thanks to the help of Mr. Davitt. When I approached Kavi to tell him that his video was FINALLY uploaded, several students shared with me that it was already working. GGRR!!!

It turns out that I am seeing an error message here at school on the videos but you are able to see them just fine. So, my spring break "resolution" is to be sure to post more to the blog this last quarter. Sorry for being such a terrible blogger this past quarter. Thanks!
