Similes and Metaphors
Similes are a way to compare two things using like or as. Metaphors are a little harder because you have to compare two things without using like or as. Leave a comment to post your favorite similes and metaphors.

Poetry
Here are some great websites for us to look at while we are learning how to be poets. If you would like to print one of these poems, I suggest copying it into a word document so that you only print your poem.

This week
Dear Class,
As you know we have started learning about probability in math, which is chapter 23. I found these great games that will help as we start to use fractions when we tell the probability of an event occurring (which will be Wed.).
If you play any of them, leave a post to tell us which one was your favorite!!

How Was Your Day?
Dear Fourth Graders,
Look at that...Mrs. Pupillo is already using the blog. She is awesome. I know she is going to be great!
I just wanted to share some of the pictures of my day. We decided to be tourists and visit some places in San Antonio. We are having so much fun with Molly. I am hoping to start traveling home this coming weekend but we have to wait until the courts say it is o.k.
I am hoping that if you all work really hard on your MAP tests next week, maybe I could come up and visit you with the baby on Friday, April 16th. I will be contacting Mrs. Pupillo often during the week so be sure to do your best work for her. Post me a comment and let me know how you are doing. I really miss all of you!
Here is our day in San Antonio. Click on the play icon to see the pictures.

What a great day!!!
I know I have some tough shoes to fill, but I am going to try my best!!!
Homework for tonight is to finish any book club assignments (your groups will meet tomorrow) and to complete 4 problems on the math worksheet (hint: the problems are either multiplication or division).
I am so happy to be a part of your class and I know we will have a wonderful end to the school year!!

Our Baby Molly
I am so sorry for leaving and not getting to properly say good bye. As you all know by now I am sure, we got a call on Wed. afternoon saying that the birthmom changed her mind and to hurry to San Antonio. We hopped in the car Wed. night and got to Texas today just in time to meet our sweet little daughter, Molly Jane. I will talk to you soon!
