Guest Visitor

Mrs. Nelson Linck, our own kindergarten teacher, has been working very hard for African American month to set up a museum and invite guest speakers to our school. Here is a link to her museum info. She coordinated a guest speaker, Lakisha Jackson.

We were able to play a game show with her to guess what job she had. We played 20 questions and were able to ask questions to try and figure out what her job was. Students-feel free to add your comments on what you found most interesting about our visitor.

Time for Kids

Today we read the exciting Time for Kids issue titled "Too Many Tests." As we had a discussion, many of the students were concerned with the idea of the Academic All Stars assembly. If you would like to post your opinion here, please feel free to comment.

Here are some photos of the students reading. Then, some students made a game show to quiz each other on what we read. Other students decided to write a letter to voice their opinion about testing.

Here is a link to the article if you would like to read it.

Interactive Writing-Tungsten Party

By Lucas, Kailey, Ethan, Alyssa, and Christina

In our class, we are doing very good with our Tungsten tests. We met our teacher's challenge. Every time we got 100% on a question, we earned something for the party. We got 100% on 6 questions, so we earned 6 things for our party. We earned a pizza party, a dance party, electronics day, and extra recess.

Interactive Writing-Knex Cars

During indoor recess we build cars. First, we get the supplies out of the bag. Then we build the frame and put on the wheels. To add more protection, we add a bumper. After we make the cars, we destroy them in a demolition derby. Then we rebuild and destroy them the next time we play.
