Searching for Workout Videos!
Yes, well, I do need to lose a few winter pounds but these videos are not for me! If you have any walking videos on DVD sitting at home, please feel free to send them in to support our cause. With it being so cold outside, we have been having (and will continue to have)indoor recess. Many of the students would like to continue their efforts to exercise 360 minutes a week. If you have any videos you are not using, we would love to borrow them. I will return them at the end of this cold season. Thank you in advance!

Kavi's Holiday Adventure
I had a wild trip back from Canada. Just so you know, it was not a straight through flight, which means we had to switch planes in Denver. It was the day before Christmas eve. We were about to board the plane when a blizzard hit. Our flight was delayed until 11:00 P.M. We were about to take off when the engine froze. We headed back to the gate and got deplaned. Now it is 1:00 A.M. and some passengers were yelling at the pilot and the staff at the airport. We managed to rebook a flight to Cinncinatti and then we booked another flight that went from Cinncinatti to Saint Louis. We went to a hotel and slept for 2 HOURS!!!??? We woke up at 4:00 A.M. Christmas eve day. We got on the plane and got de-iced again. Then the left engine would not start but luckily the engineer fixed it. We made it to Saint Louis at 6:00 P.M. It was a scary trip but luckily we made it home. ThE EnD.

Welcome Back in 2010!
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back to a wonderful new year! I want you to know your children were very kind and helpful in transitioning back into the school year. I just wanted to give you a few updates on what we will be starting in each of the subjects.
Reading: Making Inferences-this is what good readers do when they take something they know about a topic and apply it to what they read. For this unit, we will be reading in book clubs based on a mystery unit.
Mathematics: Geometry-we will be starting this unit with a study of lines, angles, and rays in Chapter 17. We will be also working on long division in addition to geometry.
Science: Students will be studying Electricity in Unit F, Chapter 14.
Writing: We are starting our study of expository writing. Students will be choosing a topic, researching, notetaking, and creating a finished piece.
We will have a very busy 3rd quarter! Welcome back~
